Abstract

|
A simple total synthesis of the sesquiterpene, a-trans-atlantone which belongs to bisabolane family, is described. The kinetic enolate of mesityl oxide is used as nucleophilic synthon for an intermediate (alpha-bisabololone) synthesis.
